The head of TRT Ibrahim Eren was a guest of a conference in one of the universities of Istanbul.
Eren said: ” We have no such a plan like returning the contest right now, We have a reason like voting system. I can’t broadcast a show which a bearded woman, who claims who has no gender, winning the show while the children are watching.”
Eren also criticized EBU for being ‘aberrational’. He said he told this to EBU directly.
Turkey last participated to Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 when Can Bonomo came 7th in Baku. Turkey debuted the contest in 1975, so far the country won once with ‘Everyway that I can’ by Sertab Erener.
