Dnipro City Council has published details of its bid to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Dnipro guarantees an investment of UAH 500 million (EUR 18 million) and is ready to start necessary works already on 18 July.

The only venue option proposed in the application is DNIPROEUROARENA. This is a location formerly known as Entertainment and Sports Palace “Meteor”. The neighbouring buildings of “Meteor” sports complex are also proposed to host press-center and Euroclub.

Eurovillage will be located in the central part of Dnipro – on the “Heroes of Maidan Square”, which will house the concerts location, corners of official and national sponsors, as well as auxiliary platforms.

The second proposed fan-zone is the Festival pier: It will house stage area, chill-out zone, coworking area, gaming-land, foodcourt, art gallery. Visitors will be offered a full program: The festival of colors, an exhibition of vintage cars, the parade of bikers, workshops, competitions and performances.

Dnipro became the second city after Odessa to publish details of its bid application. Some cities, such as Kyiv and Kherson, for the moment refuse to publish details of the proposed venues for the competition citing confidentiality requirements.
